02 / Why people leave

The four reasons Wix users call us.

None are emergencies alone. Together they are why most people eventually move, and why moving sooner costs less than moving later.

01

You cannot take your site with you

Wix has no full site export. No button hands you your pages, templates or design. If you leave, the site does not come with you, which is exactly why people put the move off for years.

02

The monthly cost keeps climbing

Premium plan, plus apps, plus the ones that became paid after you started. On WordPress you pay for hosting, typically $10–30/month, and own the rest outright.

03

You hit the SEO ceiling

Wix improved, but you still work inside limits: URL structures you cannot fully control, page speed you cannot tune, schema you cannot extend. WordPress gives you the whole surface.

04

Your developer options are narrow

Custom functionality means Velo or nothing. On WordPress any developer can pick up the work, and the plugin ecosystem covers most of what you would otherwise pay to build.

03 / What we preserve

Everything that makes the site worth moving.

The rebuild is visible. This is the part that decides whether your traffic is still there in three months.

Search rankings

Page titles, meta descriptions, heading hierarchy, image alt text and structured data all carry over. Search Console and Analytics are reconnected before launch and monitored after it.

Every URL

Wix URLs are distinctive, /post/, /services-1, dated blog paths. Where the new structure is cleaner, the old address gets a 301 to it. Nothing 404s, no chains, no lost link equity.

Your content

Pages, blog posts with original publish dates and authors, images at full resolution, downloadable files, testimonials and team bios. Formatting comes across, not just raw text.

Forms and integrations

Contact forms, booking widgets, newsletter signups and payment buttons rebuilt and tested end to end. Submissions land where they did before, or somewhere better if you ask.

Honest caveat

Wix comments, Wix Chat history and certain third-party app data have no export path, no agency can move them, and anyone who says otherwise is guessing. We identify these during the audit, before you commit, and propose replacements where they exist.

04 / The process

Three stages. You approve each one.

Nothing happens to your live site until you have seen the replacement and signed off on it.

  1. 01

    Audit

We crawl your live site and inventory every page, URL, image, form and ranking keyword.

You get a written migration plan before we touch anything: the full page list, which URLs carry your traffic, and exactly what the new site will look like. No surprises after you have paid.

  2. 02

    Rebuild

We rebuild your site on WordPress or Shopify on a private staging URL you can review.

Content, images, page structure, forms and metadata all come across. You review the staging site and request changes until it is right. Your live site keeps running the whole time.

  3. 03

    Redirect & Verify

We map every old URL to its new home, launch, and verify the redirects resolve.

Every old URL gets a 301 to its match on the new site. After launch we re-crawl, confirm no broken links or redirect chains, resubmit your sitemap, and watch Search Console for two weeks.

06 / Questions

Wix to WordPress questions.

The specifics people ask before committing to the move.

01Can I export my site from Wix myself?
Not completely. Wix lets you export blog posts and download media one item at a time, but there is no export for pages, layouts, design or site structure. Everything else has to be rebuilt. That rebuild, done in a way that keeps your URLs and rankings intact, is the job you are hiring us for.
02Which WordPress setup do you use?
Self-hosted WordPress on hosting you own, with a lightweight block-based theme rather than a heavy page builder. That keeps the site fast, keeps you free to switch hosts later, and means any WordPress developer can work on it. If you have a strong preference for a particular theme or builder, tell us and we will work with it.
03Do I keep my domain name?
Yes. Your domain is yours regardless of where the site is hosted. If it is registered through Wix we will walk you through transferring it out or simply repointing it, whichever you prefer. Nothing about the address your customers type changes.
04What happens to my Wix subscription?
Keep it running until the new site is live and verified, usually a week or two of overlap, which is cheap insurance. Once we have confirmed everything resolves correctly you can cancel. We will tell you when it is safe to do so.
